Peter Gabriel - Digging in the Dirt

What a great, mysterious, song. Disturbing and calming at the same time. I was rediscovering it yesterday, and at some point, it occurred to me, "Hey, that sounds like Lanois." Then I remembered that Lanois did produce it. I'm really starting to appreciate Daniel Lanois more and more... he produced albums by U2, Dylan, Emmylou Harris and others. He has this multi-layered sonic palette that I just dig. A lot. It's just now occurring to me that he's the common thread in a lot of great albums that I always loved, but never knew why.
